Michelle Marra sees in swaths of color and light. She is inspired by the great Abstract Expressionists from the late 40’s and early 50’s: Willem de Kooning, Joan Mitchell, Lee Krasner and Helen Frankenthaler, just to name a few. Her art is about taking color and creating a joyous feeling. Oftentimes she starts with very few premises, such as color and mark making, to drive where she wants to focus next. Michelle was chosen to participate in the inaugural publication of Art Folio, a curated list of the world's most exciting artists, in 2020 and soon to be published 2021.
