Valerie McMullen, 16” x 16”

Valerie was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona was influenced by art and creativity through her father, a talented watercolorist. She graduated from Arizona State University in 1991 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art. Valerie studied under Pennsylvania artist Nessa Grainger who exposed her to mixed media and collage which Valerie employs in her works today. Since relocating back to the Southwest, she continues to pursue her artistic training by attending such local schools as the Scottsdale Artists’ School and workshops with many talented instructors. Valerie McMullen is a Signature Member of the Arizona Watercolor Association and a Juried Member of the Arizona Art Alliance. In 2020 she received 1st place in an abstract BoldBrush competition for her painting “Blue Lagoon”. She is also a part of the 2022 issue of Artfolio!
